Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

SEO or search engine optimization is the marketing practice of gaining traffic from the “free” or “organic” search results on search engines. Payment isn’t required, as it is with paid search ads (SEM). Sites such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo all display search results, where they are shown and ranked based on what is most relevant to users.

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

Search engine optimization (SEO) is a methodology of strategies, techniques, and tactics used to increase the amount of visitors to a website by obtaining a high-ranking placement in the search results page of a search engine. These search engines usually include Google, Bing and Yahoo. Most internet users will not click through pages and pages of search results. Therefore, the site ranking in a search is essential for directing more traffic to the site. The earlier or higher ranked on the search results page and more frequently a site appears in a search results list, the more visitors it will receive from the search engine’s users.

Search engine optimization affects the visibility of a website in a search engine’s unpaid results. These unpaid results are often referred to as natural, organic, or earned results. Search engine optimization can also target different kinds of search including image search, local search, video search, academic search, new search, and industry specific search.
